But Messalina, wife of the Emperor Claudius, was said to be something of a lusty lady; one story is that she challenged a notorious prostitute named Scylla to an all-night sex competition. Scylla gave up at dawn when she had taken 25 lovers, but Messalina went on until morning; it's said she was exhausted but not satisfied.
