it's up to you.
it's basically a way of making good friends, see if the kids are your type hang out with them, frats always have parties. depends what kind of person you are. you don't HAVE to. do whatever you man, it's your life. the worst thing you can do is live your life basing it on social expectations.

Nope, and they usually cost extra to join, on top of whatever rules they have. You don't have to do anything at college, but I recommend you at least go to class!
