Hi, I'm looking for a chilled out café in London where I can just read, work on the laptop or just watch the world go by. Any suggestions?

Actually, there are plenty of cafés in London where you can do that - it's not cheeky at all unless you are turning up and not buying anything. In fact, Starbucks promise you just that - hence the sofas and wi-fi internet access. Personally, though, I find Starbucks a bit too 'produced' and the food is awful.

I use the Blue Room in Soho (Bateman Street) - sofas, nice food, very chilled out; there's no wi-fi though but you'll get plenty of people just reading, writing or chatting. Café Boheme on Old Compton Street is also good but can get busier around lunch and certainly in the evening.

In Ladbroke Grove/Notting Hill, there is one great place on Kensington Church Street - big, airy, nice sandwiches and everyone is working on their novel or business plan.

There are just so many really!

Go to the British Library on Euston Road. Very chill place to hang out...

Starbucks is great if you get one of those soft armchairs and a good place to sit, go into any big Starbucks.
You can sit there for as long as you like and they dont bother you or anything, plus the coffee is great.

You cant do that, the cafe has to make money to pay the bills, and you would be taking a seat up all day...cheek,go and sit in the library.
