My most hated phrase is when a collegue throws up alternative view points then tells me 'I'm just playing Devil's advocate'. This happens a lot in my office and bugs me like crazzzy! The help is useful, that annoying term is not!

When someone says, 'I'm just giving you a head's up'. Why can't they just say 'I'm just letting you know'. And I agree with all the people who have said 'blue sky thinking', 'thinking outside the box' etc.
