When I first heard this story break I was dumbfounded and disgusted.
I was watching Lou Dobbs when he explained the exact situation.
How in the heck are the border Guards supposed to protect the border when they get punished for protecting them.
Not only that, what does the White House and Bush think this message sends to these poor men and women and the populous,
A Little like Oliver Twist " Please Sir can I GIVE you more?
Oh but there must be some incredible alliances in Mexico that are greasing Mr. Bush's pockets, if not now, later.
He is hell bent on giving America away, from the border crossings, Port Security that he almost got away with, Outsourcing American Jobs to the to the proposed Guest Worker Program. Just to name a few.
I'd heard that the were taking up petition to get these poor men out of prison. Anything more happen with that?
What the "F" is Congress going to do about this? No pardons in sight?
They are the Delinquents and should serve 1 month for everyday these men have had to.
If they give that Drug Smuggler one red cent YOU should all, in unison, demand Bush's Resignation and make congress reimburse these men and their families double the amount and release these men with the Medal for Bravery.

Illegal immigration causes many problems that's for sure. That is an indisputable fact. Given your estimate of 20 million illegals let's proceed from there. Let's say even 1/3 of them are holding jobs. That's almost 7 million people in the workforce. Contributing to the tax base etc. That would leave 7 million job vacancies. Would our nation be able to handle that many leaving the workforce? Probably not. Would Americans step into these jobs for the pay offered? Probably not. Companies bottom line is profit. Would they raise wages to get Americans to work these jobs? Probably not. More companies would begin to outsource. Thus leaving many Americans out of jobs that now hold jobs. Our entire country would collapse and the Great Depression would look like a cakewalk. As I've said illegal immigration is wrong and needs to stop. But we also need to be realistic on deporting as you say 20 million people. Believe me...It's not going to happen for various reasons. So we must move forward and think of realistic ways to deal with the situation at hand and also insure the illegal situation is stemmed in the future. Better border security and visa systems need to be taken care of first and foremost so the situation doesn't progressively get worse. Once the flow is stopped we can then work on what to do with those already here.

This makes me ill. I agree they should have reported the shooting, but due to darkness & the chaos, I'm sure they did what they thought was correct and have tried to emphasized this over & over. Who is the Prosceutor in that City? I read in the paper today that one of the men were beaten so bad by thugs in prison. The Border that our Military is covering, doing nothing, they are unable to make an arrest. Unless there is a Border control officer nearby, the illegals can cross & our Military are not allowed to place one finger on them. I don't think the Big house in Washginton, D.C. doesn't won't the American people to know this. But he is taking the credit for sending our troops!
