If both went out at the same time you need to check your belt,maybe it's slipping that's the only thing that would relate to both problems.

Heating is usually an electric fan blowing air into small water radiator connected to the cooling circuit. If both power steering and heating stopped at the same time, it means you have a belt problem (belt gives power to power steering pump and cooling water pump). Otherwise check the power steering liquid level (similar to breaking fluid, red color) and check the heating fan fuse and fan.
