Beethoven completed 9 symphonies, but he did leave sketches for portions of a 10th symphony. The first movement was reportedly to be in C minor with an introduction in E-flat major. You should be able to find the sketches in most good music libraries. Look for the Beethoven complete works edition.

He died a few years after he wrote his 9th symphony. BUt when he on his death bed, he was said to have been composing. So maybe he was starting a 10th, but that isn't proven.

He wrote only 9 symphonies and they all kick serious butt. Especially the 4th, in my opinion.
