We've all heard the expression, "You have only one chance to make a good first impression." How true that is! One of the main purposes of an interview is to present yourself to a potential employer in a manner that reflects a highly polished and professional image.

It is important to keep in mind that the interview is not the time to be making a personal statement with the way you dress. Your goal should be to show that you respect the interviewer's values, tastes, and expectations relative to dress and personal manner. Although professional dress and appropriate style may vary slightly depending on job type, work environment and geographical region.

Your clothing should appear as a natural extension of you, tailored to help you present a positive image and "shine" in the interview. Your considerations and efforts will pay tremendous dividends. After the interview you can get back into those comfortable jeans, T-shirts, and athletic shoes.

Now just smile and give it your best!

Many people would tell that dress is not an important thing in interview, but it is very important.follow the following steps

1. Dont try a new dress on interview day.If it does not fit and tight, it may affect your mind and performance

2, If you dont used shoes before, dont try it at interview.A decent chappal is enough
3. The most important thing is your clothes must be washed well and neatly ironed

4. your clothes should be pleasant to see and not to be either eye catching or too dull

5.It is better to have a light coloured shirts and a darker pants.

After ensuring these things, forget about dress when entering interview hall and concentrate on interaction with interviewer

look professional.

don't deck up like a christmas tree.and gaudy styles a big no no!

dress in clean and neat attire that which suits ur physique best. and that in which u r comfortable too.

do not experiment new styles of clothes/hair styles which u r not accustomed to on an interview. bcz u may look uncomfortable and it may show up on ur face and may make u fidget and that would make u less confident too.

wear modern clothes but do not wear clothes that reveal or those which give a come hitehr look.

remeber that u r nt at a party but at an office /working place.

minimum jewllery and make up too and the same for accesories too. choose comfortable and formal footwear.

over all look mod, efficient , professional ,decent and commanding and most important look elegant.

and lastly ur individuality should be evident and so should be ur efficiency and confidence. immaterial is the cost of the attires or the fashion quotient of the same. and do not forget to dress up ur face with a bright smile. :-)

and my reply includes general suggestions for both the genders. and assuming that u r a female by ur name i mentioned that bit abt jewllery, make up and revealing clothes.

good luck

smart and elegant, not much jewelery, not very bright colours,no stillettoes, western outfit :then white shirts and navy blues or grays is a good option, indian outfit : then a decent salwar suit or sari in crepe is not a bad option. Hair : tied neatly never leave it loose. Nail polish not a bright shade, shoes and hand bag to match but a sobre colour. Make up very light and the eyeliner should be a decent black or blue or light pink.
