I'm really into rock and metal and want to ask experienced players or good guitar players which guitar has better sound and quality for playing rock and metal. Kramer and Jackson both look the same, my friend who plays for a proffesional band has a Kramer and sounds amazing. Jackson are very well known for playing rock, I mean I want to make a good buy between these two. I'm open for advice, and thanks in advance. Also which is more durable and overall a great buy?

Every one is different. The best advice to give you is to go after the sound that you are searching or sound that you are trying to accomplish. One that gives you the sound or distortion you are searching for. From personal experience I tried Jacksons because of reputation they have for metal but none of them gave me the sound I was looking for. One day I accidentally stumble across one Kramer in the store out of hundred other guitars that were hanging on the wall It was the only one Kramer in entire store. I tried the guitar I fall in love with the flashy distortion and the guitar's smooth neck. After that I bought Kramer and I am happy but that's just me as I said every one is different.

If you are basing your decison between those two brands, i would get the one with the better reputation and better warranty. A brand that gives a lifetime warranty has complete confidence in their guitars.

if its not between those two brands, id try these out:

Gibson Explorer *
Gibson SG *
Ibanez Iceman *
B.C. Rich KKV

ones with the stars are ones i would buy if i had the money for them, the bc rich sounds great, but i dont like "V" shaped guitars.

Kramer dude!

Do the initials EVH ring a bell ? I'm sure Van Halen played Kramer before he went to Peavey. I had one (Striker, 1 double coil pickup, tremolo) and the pickups were so hot, it almost played itself.

Pure rock!

Yeah, Jerry said it-The one that feels comfortable in your hands works best. Personally I like round necks not flat n' wide ones.
Got an ESP Kirk Hammett K3. Nice sound, beefy not like my other Jackson(Warrior) -kinda thin sounding, I don't even play it any more.
Check out what feels right at the store.

I own a gibson sg standard with a fender g-dec junior amp and a squier strat' and the gibson is a great higher priced guitar but if you are looking for more bang for your buck go with a squier stratocaster with a fender g-dec junior amp it's great for heavy metal.
