O'Reilly Online is one of my favorite programming related Web sites. At the O'Reilly Web site http://www.oreilly.com/, you can both search for books that are for sale, or click on "Safari Books Online" at the top of the main page, then enter "Visual Basic" in the search box. This will return some books that are freely available as e-texts, to read online.

I hope it helps. Good luck to you.

Get on www.torrentspy.com & search Visual Basic Tutorial... yes you'll have to download BitLord but it'll only take a few seconds of your life & after that you'll be able to download lots of other stuff including software, tv episodes, decent movies & whatnot...

The other option of course is to find one of those software market thingys that happen at the weekend, usually in the gym of some primary school or a big hall somewhere.

I never went to school for computers, per say, so everything I learned I learned online. The very best programming site on the net as far as I'm concerned, is http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/

I learned to program ASP, VBScript, SQL and Javascript on that website. Click on CODING TIPS and start there.....after you go to the VB part of the site. I think all that will be in the .NET part.
