Today is my second day i took the next pill at the regular time as the instructions indicated but the problem is that the nauseas and headaches go and come and today i was so sensitive to all smells around me. So here comes the question. Can i be pregnant or i am protected after all i was just 10hrs late? but if i am pregnant will the pills harm the baby? Please someone answer me

Don't worry if you're taking a combined contraceptive pill. You are probably feeling nauseous because you are worried and because a side effect if hormonal contraceptives is nausea. You might feel a little more sick when you take your next pill (do take it on time). It's not likely that you'll become pregnant this way. If remembering pills is a problem for you, set a cell phone/watch alarm to remind you to take the pill or switch to something easier to remember like the nuva ring, ortho evra patch or depo-provera shot.

If you're taking a mini-pill or progesterone only pill (check the box, if there's two ingrediants to your pill you're on a combined contraceptive) then you have a greater chance of getting pregnant this way since the window of time that it's 'safe' to take a pill late is much shorter.

Do read your pill information pamplet and see what the instructions are about a missed pill.

Perfect pill usage is over 99% effective. Missing a pill drops your effectiveness from 99+ to about 92 to 96% effective. Relax. Use condoms as a back up for 7 days or more if you're still very worried.

Lastly, the pill does not harm early pregnancy in anyway shape or form, so continue to take your pills as normal.

You could possibly be pregnant but it is not a very strong chance. It shouldn't matter too much on 10-12 hours but you never know. It also could just be side effects from the birth control. Take a home pregnancy test and see what it says, if you are still worried go to the doctor. And if you find out that you are, stop taking the pill immediately.

You do know that conception doesn't happen immedietly, don't you?

You are only experiencing these these things as either a side effect of your pill, or the strange power of the human psyche.

Relax.

If you need to, take a test, but to experience these symptoms, you would need to be a few weeks pregnant, not a few minutes pregnant.

honey my guess is that it's all in your head. The idea that you missed your pill has you freaking out. if you have been on them for at least a month you should have nothing to worry about. But be forewarned the only 100% method of birth control is absinance ( not an option for me personally but lol) My sister conceived while on birth control.
