task-bar/start menu problem?

I have Windows explorer error msg display right after the Windows started. And then the Start menu and taskbar problem also appears. The Windows explorer error msg won't go away no matter what I do . At the same time I can't click on Start button and any part of the taskbar. All this happened after my girl played a game on KPBS. I am suspecting she might've done something, but not so sure. Could please someone help me with this?

There may be several reasons...

If your OS is WIn98 or WInMe, then it's maybe the problem of OS,not because of virus.(Because WIn98/Me is more error-prone than another version in some ways...)
So, the only way is to reinstall the OS on your PC...
(It won't take long time,... just 15 min for Pentium III)


If your OS is Win2000 or WinXP or Vista and the msgbox is awkward then, it canbe of virus...

then... please follow me just a moment...

First press Alt+Ctrl+Del and click on Task Manager and second tab...
Then check out every running process, and once you've got one or more suspicious process, then click on

then one more moment please...
Start/Run...
type or

goto find on the menu...
type and click on find...

(Sorry for forgetting the correct path, I'm not on my machine and I'm not on Administrator-user... so I can't run regedit and can't make sure the correct path of ...(but it's exist and will take some time...) But I think it's in the third Folder... maybe...)

if you find ,then click on it and see the right pane...
there will be some apps which are run when Os started...
then check each apps one by one...(or it's no problem when you remove all items from that pane... but it's last way you use...)

then restart your machine...

If still is your machine so so,... then reinstall your OS...
