Some believe that. I, however, believe that some opportunities are presented to us for a reason, and we choose our own path. Some things are meant to be, and others are not. Things DO happen for a reason, but life isn't planned out for us day by day. I think God presents us with life changing opportunities in disguise, and it's up to us to figure out which path to go down. If God already planned each and every life, then why would he have given us the ability to choose and think? If you believe that your life is already planned out for you, then what's the use in trying? If you believe that your life was planned, you shouldn't do a thing. Just sit on the couch and wait for it to happen. Doesn't make much sense to me!

The quick answer is it's already been determined, but that cannot be concluded through just assuming life is a scripted set of well rehearsed and perfectly executed interplays, this is in fact a very complex subject in which fate and free will play their parts. Both are true. There is restricted free will within the destined fate, that’s the simplest way it can be put, if you think about it all life has purpose because each action is not without consequence. For purpose to exist it has to have been predefined it is a description of a target which must be hit to forefill your destiny before your time ends. Now consider this little paradox over the next few lifetimes. Do we exercise free will? It certainly seems like we do. I’ve started many reactions through the use of free will in deciding what action to take, but if we think in terms of cause and effect, karma, what goes around comes around, then maybe my action was an effect from an earlier cause. A reaction that felt like an act of free will. Cause and effect this is a universal law. We believe we have choice. Flip a coin, makes no difference what side it falls on it’s still a coin and as such the value remains constant regardless of what side faces up when it‘s spent. Two sides one value the opposites are equal both are just one. The Mobius loop is another example. Get a strip of paper, long and thin just a line. There are two sides to a line a left and a right, but connect the ends together like your making a loop except before they are joined twist one of the ends so the underside that could not be seen is now the visible one and then join them. Now you have a loop with a twist in. Next choose a side left or right. With your finger touching follow the route that your side takes to reveal how a strip with two sides without changing its physical properties like its mass can be altered so completely that now it has only one.

Fate is determined by a combination of a higher guiding power and then the final choice that you take. You can not blame anyone else for your life except yourself - throughout life fate gives you choices and leaves it up to you to decide the final choice. The future is already mapped but the path you take is yours alone

I love to think about things like this. I used to think about George Michaels, a different corner when i was growing up and think it can be that simple in changing the course of events in your life. It's no wonder that "if i'd only" are often used as words of despair when thinking of the possible-different outcome. But on saying that you can't change things that have already happened only learn from them, turn a different corner next time. After all "would of, could of, should of are the last words of a fool"

I think fate takes a hand in things a lot of the time but ultimately we can control our own destiny. We make choices everyday that can change our whole life without even realising that is what we are doing.

I believe that our life is already mapped out for us before we are born & the major things in life are decidec by fate. However in regards to the minor events in life I believe we have some influence there.

I believe the major things in life are meant to happen - how we get there is up to us. We always have choices and are merely guided in the right direction (I'm a great believer in angels). If you're ever in doubt, ask the angels for their assistance - and no, this doesn't mean you're going mad!

I think it a little of both, if god has something lined up for you and then you decide to not go to a certain place where he had the love of your life....it may take a while if ever because you are not listen to the conversations you have in your head , you are not following your innervoice

I think we make our own destiny. It is funny how you feel that things are meant to be though. When I go through a major upheaval I am always overwhelmed with frequent deja vu. It makes me think that I am in the right place.

Fate ; we invite in to ourself, Fate is the Devil doing his work on us, what happens in our living life is much up to us, we was given free will to choose and as we choose the Devil will try and put nice things in our way to tempt and when it does not turn out how we expect it to we always say well thats fate but in fact we have chosen it ourself.
So Fate to answer your question is down to us all.
