Well, other suns are brighter than ours. Our sun being a rather mediocre star.
As for darkness, a black painted room with no windows (and of course a closed door ;-) is darker than night. But make sure you don't have your HIFI-set on standby since the LED gives a little light!

*sniggers* Well, if we slightly shift the meanings...

An X-ray-emitting giant black hole is definitely brighter than the sun, but you'll never see it without an X-ray telescope - so, darker than night :P

"The concentration of light and its brightness, which is equivalent to the luminosity of 18 million suns, indicates that the X rays are being produced as material heats up and falls onto a black hole. No ordinary black hole, this one has an estimated mass of between 500 and 8,000 suns, says Philip E. Kaaret of Harvard-Smithsonian. That's a range that astronomers have never encountered before."

Black Hole.
i remember reading an article about black hole several years ago. One of the theories about black hole says that it has a gravitational constant so strong even light can't pass through it.

*this question sounds like a riddle.

A black hole. It is dark because of so much gravity that light cannot escape.
