If it accelerates uniformly then the average speed during the first 8 seconds would be 43.5 mph, i.e.0.725 miles per minute.or in other words 0.012 miles per second. Given that it had 8 seconds to move then it would have traveled 0.09667 miles or 154.87 mtrs (1 mile is approx. 1600 mtrs.).

wouldn't you need to convert the 8 seconds into hours then you use the position function and it's first derivative? plug the values back into postion function to get distance?
