PLASTIC WASH BOTTLE: may contain simply water, or a combination of water and soap. Typically in a chemistry lab, it is water only, used for rinsing out equipment (or hands and eyes, if a spill happens).

EVAPORATING DISH: a shallow dish that is heat-resistant. Used to hold small amount of fluid over a heat source (like Bunsen burner) so that solids contained in the solution can be collected by evaporating the liquid portion.

MORTAR AND PESTLE: Mortar is the bowl portion of this device; pestle is the "pounding" portion. Both are made of chemically-inactive materials, like ceramics or stone, and are used to crush solids into a finer 'grain' so that they can be more easily employed in chemical experiments.

CRUCIBLE AND LID: A crucible is a heat-resistant bowl, often made of metal or ceramic. The lid is simply that; a cover. The container is used to melt solids (like metal) for use in chemical experiments.

DISTILLATION (DISTILLING) FLASK: A glass container with at least one (and sometimes several) branches extending slightly downward from different areas of the vertical neck. When a liquid is boiled inside the container, the vapor - complete with impurities - will collect in the sloped portion, condensing back into liquid to be captured in an external container (like a beaker). This is useful in separating liquids that have at least a 50 C temeprature differential in their boiling points.

DROPPING BOTTLE: Made of either glass or plastic, these containers dispense fluids one drop at a time, due to the very small opening at the top. Usually this small opening is at the end of a screw-on neck arrangement, so that the bottle can be easily filled with the fluid to be dispensed.

POTRL DISH (I suspect you actually mean PETRI DISH): A Petri dish is a shallow glass or plastic cylindrical dish that biologists use to culture microbes. It was named after the German bacteriologist Julius Richard Petri (1852-1921) who invented it in 1877 when working as an assistant to Robert Koch.

WATCH GLASS: A shallow glass dish used as a beaker cover or evaporating surface.

U TUBE: This is most often seen as a manometer (pressure measuring deivce). A U-tube manometer contains water or mercury in a U-shaped tube, and is usually used to measure gas pressure. One end of the U tube is exposed to the unknown pressure field (P) and the other end is connected to a reference pressure source (usually atmospheric pressure).

MEDICINE DROPPER: This is often part of the glass version of the dropping bottle. It is a plastic or glass with a small exit opening and a rubberized "squeezer" at the other end. Pressing the rubber forces air out, creating a vacuum to draw liquid into the dropper. This can then be dispensed a drop at a time.

THERMOMETER: Sealed cylinder containing mercury or other temperature-sensitive material that changes density with heat. The cylinder is marked with graduations corresponding to temperature increments (based on the coefficient of expansion for the internal material) - this allows it to be used to measure temperature of a liquid or gas.

SEPERTORY FUNNEL (actually, it's a SEPARATORY FUNNEL): The separatory funnel is used primarily in extraction procedures. The sloping sides are designed to make it easy to distinguish layers. The stopcock-controlled outlet on the bottom is designed to allow the liquid to be drained out of the funnel. On top is a standard taper joint in which fits either a ground glass or Teflon stopper.

A plastic wash bottle could be used for holding shampoo, conditioner, soap, water or even laundry detergent.

evaorating dish. never heard of it, but if you meant to say evaporating dish, well that's different, but I still have never heard of it. I dare say it would be used to evaporate water or fluids.

Mortar and Pestle - that is used to grind herbs and spices like garlic down to a fine paste.

crucible and lid - pass

distilling flask - hmmmmm .........pass

dropping bottle - pass

potrl dish - pass

watch glass - isn't that like a magnifying glass, you know to make small things easier to see and to barbecue ants

u tube - I think that might be a u shaped tube. don't know what it is used for though

medicine dropper - that is used to give small doses of medicine to your patient.

thermometer - measure temperature of people and other items.

Seperatory funnel - I think you mean a separatory fuinnel. But no i still haven't heard of it. But it sounds like it would be used to seperate liquid items.
