Without seeing ur car its hard to say as it could either be the engine or gearbox. as the oil u say ends in a puddle so that tells me its after left overnight. If so the engine oil should all be in the sump so its either a front or rear crankshaft oil seal or the o ring on the sump plug. if ur engine is tilted on its side then it could be the sump gasket, either needing renewed or tighten up sump bolts. if ur gearbox is bauto it could be the sump plate on it either tighten or new gasket

Is the oil leak in the middle of the vehicle, or on right or left side? right or left when you are sitting in the car, not looking at the front of car. Do you add about a liter a week?

It might be coming from higher up in the engine and running down the outside of the block...maybe the filler cap is not sitting properly or maybe the valve cover gasket has failed.
