½a²x(x-a million) + rx - r = 0 Multiply via 2. a²x(x-a million) + 2rx - 2r = 0 a²x² - a²x + 2rx - 2r = 0 a²x² + (2r-a²)x - 2r = 0 Factorise. (ax - a)(ax + 2r/a) = 0 ax - a = 0 or ax + 2r/a = 0 ax = a or ax = -2r/a x = a million or x = -2r/a²
