well the honor system doesnt work, thats why the state and federal government passed these stronger child support laws. they are tired of people not paying for their kids (and in some cases paying for them).
courts today will not allow you to just sign away your rights to get out of child support. in some states, someone has to be willing to adopt the child in order to sign away your rights.
no need to get angry at the child support unit for doing their job.if she qualifys for welfare, they govern the account.
its hard on everyone; you, the ex, the child. but we all do the best we can with what we can.
(these figures would be MORE in CA, for the living expenses are high there).
you pay what? 400? 600? 900?
ok, lets see...
rent; 1000
electric 300
food 400-600
heat 300
phone/cable 100
auto; (for doctors, dentists, take to school when they miss the bus, pick up when sick, pick up medicines, get food) 200
that doesnt even include clothes, shoes, sneakers, school supplies, hair cuts, class trips, class pictures, over the counter medicines, prescriptions, laundry det, dish det, cleaners, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, christmas, easter, tooth fairy, birthdays, etc. etc
your deal of 50/50 on medical is a good deal. my ex pays most of it because he makes much more then i do. just be glad your child is taken care of. why do you resent paying for your child?
get to know your child. choose to have visitation. you just may find that the child will love you more then you will ever know.
Child Support Calculator; just click on your state and fill it in. its to give a general idea of what would be paid.

The only way I know of to get a change of custody is through a lawyer...you are still going to have to pay at least some child support though if the court see's fit.
