On a full i-pod you can watch videos, most MP3 players will not do this, although there are more and more around that will play movies. If it is only an i-pod nano and an mp3 player they are all the same, so save yourself some money and don't get an i pod. If you are traveling get one that does not need special software to put music onto it with, because the i pod has to have i tunes otherwise you can n ot put music on it, and it has to be done on the same computer otherwise it will over write all of your songs with the songs that are on the computer it is plugged into. make shure that you can change the batteries so that if you are traveling and the battery does you just put a new one in it you don't have to find somewhere to charge it

About $100, I-pods somtiems have a bunch of bells and whistles tacked on but you can get a cheap MP3 player that'll play music for you to use when working out for much less than an I-Pod.

Similar to the difference between an Apple computer and an IBM P.C. They do the same thing, but they have a slightly different interface. Apple made the ipod and it is specially designed for itunes. Ipod are pretty, and they cost a bit more because they are made only by Apple. Mp3 players can be very different and can be far less expensive.

an ipod is an mp3 player. an mp3 is a music format, just like a wmv or wav file. all that an ipod does is play mp3 files. Other mp3 players like the Zune and the countless sony products are basically the same thing but with less battery, less storage, and more expensive.

Ipod is basically only a popularity form. I have a Sansa e200 mp3 participant and that i love it!! some dorks will inform you that the ipod is the in hardship-free words thanks to flow....yet inspect all the "help! my ipod isn't operating...." questions with regard to the following. Plus they're overpriced. My Sandisk grow to be in hardship-free words $one hundred ninety for 4 gigs.
