I have a great deal of respect for the ones that aren't raping women and children, and setting villages on fire. These people volunteer to risk their lives so that we may live freely. What's not to respect ... besides the people giving them their orders.

Yes, very much so. Not only are my parents veterans but being in the military is quite a sacrifice. Being away from your family & friends is hard and there's quite a bit of physical and emotional pain at times. Plus, anyone that defends thieir country, especially in times like these, should be given respect for their bravery.

It's a shame more people don't put aside their own policitical gripes and show support to the troops that defend their freedoms more.

The people of the military... That's a strange one... Why shouldn't I respect people who are in the Army? They might not be the smartest people on Earth, but I have seen teachers and even doctor who were more stupid that some of the sergeants that I met when I was in the Army (in my country it is compulsory to join the Army for 14 months). Besides, somebody has to do it, anyway.

YES I respect them...they are fighting to keep the enemy from coming on American soil, and there's not enough people that think that that's possible and don't see that if we pull out all hell is going to breakout over there and here, they deserve our support, and respect they are giving a big sacrifice for us, some, many with their own life's, and they are heroes, they weren't force to go they went wanting to defend this country....and we haven't given them enough honor and respect, and their family deserve some respect also...after all they are in this too

YES. I respect them considering they are leaving a free country, family, friends, jobs, and more all to protect our country and to aid in the welfare of our, and other, countries. They know full well that they could be going into a war zone and the bullets aren't made out of rubber. They could be sent to the Middle East plus who knows what the future holds, he could be sent to a war zone somewhere else...even here in the U.S.A...Being away from the things you love, going through basic training, etc. is no walk in the park.

Yes. They are fighting to protect our country and risking their lives to better ours. While I may not agree with the government for sending them into certain wars, I always respect the soldiers who go and fight..

nope

For them to kill people that have not wronged them, that they have never even met, just because some idiot in a uniform tells them to...that is sick.

The only valid use for military is to defend myself or my community. Given that all wars seem to be based on a lie, when I hear that someone on the other side of the world hates me or is EVIL, I am sceptical.
