If you're traveling from one state to another without stopping in another country, you will not have to show a passport. It is always a good idea to travel with identification. So if you have a drivers licence or voters card, carry it with you.

No, you do no longer want a passport to return and forth from Chicago to San Diego. the two cities are located in the boundary of the united states and traveling everywhere in the U.S. could be refrained from passport.

No...at this time only applies to air and ship travel out or into the country. By this time next year it will apply to land travel as well.

if you are a U.S. citizen all you need is a picture ID to prove who you are ..if you are visiting or working here from another country and travelling throughout the U.S. you must carry your passport and any paperwork(visa's ..etc) proving your reason for being in this country should you get stopped by police
