I am thinking of working on a cruise ship and wondered how other people found this.

basically you live in a room with 4-5 other people, small room at that. the hours are something around 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, no joke. you have down time when the ship is at port somewhere, but you are still on call, there is really no medical attention if some is needed, and nowhere to get away. Its really hard, and can be rewarding i guess

Well, if you like being cramped up on a deck of 65 year olds vomiting from seasickness and little grand children running around screaming, then it's totally for you. Unless you take the far more interesting job of maintence than it's not so bad, but sailors all over the world think you are a really big jerk for working on one. Gay cruises are the worst. Not because of anything, but the music.
