i have read from one book, which i cannot recall the title that the dolphins are the only animal who does not sleep. it also says that dolphins are the only animals who uses both hemispheres of its brain. it has the ability to allow one hemisphere of its brain to rest(in 8 hours) while the other half functions properly. when the other half awakes the other half takes its turn to rest. after that both sides will function well for the rest of the day.
