Menlyn Shopping Mall, which has recently been expanded, is said to be the biggest mall in Africa.
But, Gateway Shoppertainment World is also known as the the biggest mega-mall in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Gate way shopping mall in Umhlanga Natal is said to be the biggest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere.
Having been there a few times i agree as it is certainly bigger than any other i have ever been to and i have lived all over South Africa.

In the Cape Town area it will be Canal Walk (link below). It has over 400 shops as well as restaurants, cinema etc and is open until 9pm every night - which is great as one of my big gripes is that the malls close so early over here compared to the UK.
In Johannesburg I think it would be Sandton City Shopping Centre (link below) which has around 300 shops plus restaurants, cinemas etc but they are only open until 6pm Monday - Saturday and until 4pm on Sunday.

not very familiar with CT so I will let people from CT to make the final decision. But I stay in Centurion and I do my shopping at Sandton City or Eastgate or Menlyn and based on those three I will go with Menlyn Mall.

deffinately not Centry city in cape town! Pavillion is big but not so big! Canal walk is really big! sandton city is small!!!!!! Menlyn is also pretty big and charge BIG time for parking! but Gate way is deffinately the biggest... the parking alone is HUGE!
