This is a subject of much debate, however I am deeply in favor of the death penalty. Everyone is entitled to their "due process" of course. It's inexcusable to execute even one innocent. But to have the case drag on for 15 or 16 years when the evidence clearly shows that someone is guilty is outrageous. Likewise, life sentences that are paroled after 12 - 25 years are appalling. Life should mean exactly that - you don't get out until you're in a box. Time off for good behavior is a joke when an offender wouldn't be in prison in the first place had they not had a serious behavior problem in society! But that's another debate I suppose. The system is imperfect, but it's designed to protect the innocent from wrongful imprisonment. DNA Technology has exonerated a lot of people already. Maybe if that process were speeded up, the execution process could move along faster.

this is a complicated subject but if someone has murdered or tortured and has been proven guilty, then they should bring back hanging and dispose of them, in uk life imprisonment is 12 yrs someone who murdered at the age of 22 will be getting out soon here and he is getting out early for being a model prisoner he is now 31 he is young enough to offend again and again he may find after 10 yrs inside that he is a bit disorientated out here and prefer it in there so he will commit again just to go back inside he has no value on life or he would not have killed in the first place, when he was tried he laughed at what he did too so there was no remorse then,, they should have hung him

Blomberg is a Conservative, no longer a Liberal - feels like the Conservatives at right here want to chat a lot, yet no longer could think of a lot. i'm a Liberal and that i particular do no longer help it - i do no longer even drink surgical treatment beverages, yet what good has a infant-kisser to p.c. what i will and might't consume/drink? i could want to proportion it with my family contributors, or maybe i'm very thirsty, or maybe I only want it and don't concern approximately my weight - Liberals have faith in freedom, that's what being Liberal-minded genuinely skill... So that's no-one else's employer what i purchase to drink. that's barely a theory on the 2d, yet with each and every of the severe problems occurring, legislating sodas is the main severe?

It depends...if they murdered Anna Nicole Smith, TomKat, Rosie O'Donnell, Michael Devlin (the Missouri kidnapper), Oprah, Clay Aiken, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears or Paula Abdul I'd say go easy on 'em cause they just did the world a BIG favor!

I think that it should be decided on a case by case basis. just like its a case by case system when anyone kills anyone when deciding whether or not they go to prison. Not saying that I think that they should be let go or anything. I think it depends on how the crime was committed, how many people they killed, how old they are, that kinda thing. I've also heard of cases where a person was convicted of killing someone and was sent on death row, and turns out they didnt do it.

I am NOT comfortable with my government having the right to kill its citizens.

I DO think prison life should be harsher than it is, and it should have mandatory schooling and work so when the first time offenders get out they WANT to find work and stay out of that place.

If the hot-*** punks find out prison is HARD and they make you work it won't be so "cool" about doing time. There are some who think it is some kind of cool thing to do time. Making them work and study would take the cool out of going to prison.

N EYE 4 N EYE baby that's how I feel if they would DO the same CRUEL and INHUMAN act to the killer and put it on T.V. so the rest of the idiots like him can see him die there would be a lot less of it.Well that's what I think anyway

You know technically that'd help the killer if you think about it, why not have the prisoner convert to some religion first so the person would fear hell when going out? I know appeals and whatever else yup yup.

If you take a life, your life should be taken

and prisons shouldn't be filled with people waiting to be killed, it should be done quickly

It wouldn't do me any good to be in charge because if you shot someone to death, you would be shot to death. However you killed would be the way you died, too. That would cause someone to think twice before they murdered someone.
