If you see rubbish on the ground, pick it up. Turn off electrical appliances not in use and if possible unplug them. Walk instead of driving to the shop. Don't waste water - we are in drought conditions so I know I try to save as much as possible in this area. Don't cut down trees - we need them to clean our air. Just about anything you do - stop and think is it damaging to the environment and if so, is there an alternative. Common sense from everyone will help keep problems with the environment at bay

The little things that we do in our daily life to make a big difference in our environment are
1.Throw litter in the litter bin, not the street or roads.
2.Don't leave taps running unneccesarily.eg.while u brush close the tap and when its time to wash the mouth u can open the tap.
3.Plant a tree or a flower every month in your garden or any suitable place.
4.Call up the sewage cleaners or health facilitating officials to make measures to keep hygiene in your area
5.Once a month or on a blue moon, you can organise something environmental with your community.eg:cleaning up a river etc.

I am in Africa and the things i have listed above are very common here.

Carpool. Run less water when showering or washing your hands. Use ornamental shrubs that are native to your particular environment and so don't need as much watering.

Today people worry about trees being cut down but hate there neighbor.
Stop driving, smoking, shut down (if you work at one) the factory you work at,
don't eat any plants or animals because they want to live too.Tear down your house and let nature return to its home.don't wash your hand and kill the poor germs and viruses.don't kill mosquitoes when they bite you they are only feeding their family (should they be killed for that?).Leave the fleas, ticks and lice on your pet (don't poison them).Don't mow the poor grass or deweed.
I hope these suggestions will help.
