I have a friend for a long time who seems like he would be better off as a girl and he's felt like that for a very very long time and he's seriously thinking about having the sex change operation but one of the 1st parts is hormone therapy and living like a girl (he naturally has that down pat though except for the hormones) and he never really hit puberty either, I mean he got taller but he still sounds like a 7 yr old girl and I dunno he just fits with us better as a girl than as a guy and I really want to help him to be happy so how do we go about this first step?

There are several facts to consider. He needs to find out if when he was born if he had both parts or just one. If that is the case his parents could have picked the wrong sex for him. If he was born both and most of is inner parts of his body were female they possibly made the wrong decision. Also how old is he?? Technology has changed a lot over time. He really needs to discuss this with his parents. His age makes a big difference and it is hard to answer this question with out knowing his age.
