I'm trying to find one convenient spot to find all U.S. stocks, along with their symbols preferably. There are about 5,000 of them I've heard. Thanks.

You might try Yahoo finance. I do not know if you have all the stocks but they do have many. One problem you will have however is that there are many foreign stocks listed on the U S exchanges so I do not know if there will be an easy way to separate the U S companies from the others. The screener of Yahoo finance returns about 8,620 stocks.
