I don't know that FF is inherantly evil, but I will say this.
From the old movie "The Music Man" there's this line, "The idle brain is the devil's playground, trouble!"
If you are not doing what you should be doing, the devil is interfering with the accomplishment of the Lord's plan. It's cause for concern, but that's not really your responsibility. Tell your pastor/leader if it bothers you, then let him handle it. He is responsible for tending the flock. You cannot save anyone else, and you cannot help them break their FF habit until they want to do so in and of themselves.
When I was younger, a good friend of mine advised me not to get involved in a particular fad. Although it made me unpopular, I will always owe John a debt of gratitude for his advice. I have seen how that fad has ruined people's lives since then.

It sounds like its just a bunch of kids being stupid and trying to compare there life with a video game. I have played final fantasy's for years and even though I do not believe in an organized religion It is not because of a video game it is just my personal beliefs if these people think that Final Fantasy is their lives then it sounds like they may be in need of psychiatric health.
I feel the if they were real Christians as you put it then they would have been able to play the game because of how much fun it is and not get confused about there religious beliefs it is possible that they were not that strong in there belief before ever playing the game.
Also in some of the Final Fantasy games the church and god play a very important role. One that come to mind is Final fantasy: Tactics in which the faith that a character has will make the magic of the character all the stronger, but it also shows that the church is not infallible and that some of the higher ranking figures can be corrupt.
All in all in seems like a phase that they will grow out of and if they lose there faith in Christianity because of it then that's there choice but I could hardly believe that a game, which from the mention of Tifa would mean they are probably playing FF7, which doesn't even mention religion or really use god in any way would make someone stop believing in Christianity or any religion for that matter.

Yea I have an opinion. Christians that obsess over something stupid as this really needs to look at other problems in the world. As a matter of fact Christians in general need to stop worrying about things that are "anti-god", just leave stuff alone, half the time when kids go to church is because their parents drag them there. Just because something isn't in the proper guidelines of YOUR "god" doesn't mean that it's wrong or even concerns you.
And honestly if you're worrying so much about a GAME, especially one that is set in a fantasy world (hence the name) you have way too much free time. Just because that "god" and church doesn't promote magic doesn't mean you shouldn't play something that has magic in it.
So the kids are really into it, have you never seen a kid pretend play before or what? Kids pretend, it's called an imagination, or are those against religion too? (Serious on that part, I stay away from all religions so I don't know the beliefs on imagining stuff)
Until these kids pull out some swords, daggers, and other medieval weapons then start killing people I wouldn't see this as any cause for concern. If they do have FAKE weapons that's not exactly out of the norm, a lot of people do this with games, especially ones in the FF series, it's called cosplaying, people do this, including kids and adults.

The imagination is the driving force behind innovation. What your friends are enjoying is just a game; something that stimulates the imagination and creates some harmless escapism for them. It's like reading a book or pretending to be something you're not; it's fun. Final Fantasy is the product of fiction, and is not intended as some kind of 'magic learning' tool. There's nothing wrong with entertaining a fictitious idea.
God has given us the ability to imagine and create, so what is anti-God about enjoying a work of fiction? Final Fantasy games are harmless, and if you or people you know obsess over these frivolous types of things, then you are in desperate need of re-thinking your Faith. God should be celebrated, and not feared; you can't be happy if you live in fear for the rest of your life.
OTHER ANSWERERS: This person's friends are not playing the game AT church. They are just people they go to church with who play Final Fantasy at home/elsewhere.

In Direct Regard on your question (as inquiring for a Christian/Follower of God attitude to the undertaking handy): As a minister I see not something incorrect with many video games as we communicate, yet some are in direct opposition to what the Bible actually reads. even nonetheless (as one occasion) the Ouija board is a interest which may well be risky to a Christian. additionally those video games which contain spells and such. there is an outstanding line to right and incorrect, and my ideal answer may well be, "once you're a Christian and you recognize that the be conscious tells you to not delve into divinations, spiritism, etc? then you definately purely stay faraway from those styles of issues." some Christians think of it is o.k., as long because it fairly is a interest. even nonetheless so is russian roulette, and entering into issues that are Biblically spoken against interior the scriptures is like enjoying religious russian roulette. purely attempt drawing close those little ones with this attitude above. and that i do desire I actual have helped in some way. i don't down people who decide for Wicca or something helse as a religious determination for his or her very own lives. even nonetheless i'm providing you with an impartial (i.e. nonprejudice) answer, on account which you aksed as a Christian to a various Christian/Follower of Christ. Peace, Love & gentle, Jewel

Ok I can see your point of veiw at this but I highly think that final fantasy is a very interesting game. I may of not have played it but I do know that it has its downfalls and well I think that they shouldn't play it at church. If they should play it anywhere it'd be at anywhere except church witch is Gods house and we should never disrespect that fact. Now also if they were fully devoted christians they would have known that but lets think about this, no one is perfect and everyone sins. If you really feel that they should not play that game at church so badly tell them to take it home and that it is wrong to play it at church infact tell the paster that heck you could do jest about anything to help your church jes jump right at it!
