I am an OBGYN nurse, and you certainly could...but despite what alot of people believe, it's not that common...it's more likely that the baby would have some sort of developmental delays, physical deformities, and things like that. But miscarriages from drinking don't happen as much as everyone believes. The doctor I work with said that in med school there was a case where a woman drank for 7 days straight trying to "drink her baby out", but to no avail it was a happy healthy baby...so just be more careful, a glass of wine here or there is fine...but no more partying! You're gonna be a mommy soon, and you'll need all the R+R you can get!

Drinking is never a good idea when you are pregnant. Doctors do not know exactly how much alcohol is safe, so why risk it. That being said, you are probably just fine. I went out drinking during my first 2-3 weeks of pregnancy having no idea that I was pregnant at the time. I had a very normal pregnancy and now have a healthy 4 year old. Just be careful from now on.

I don't know if you could miscarry or not, but if you are pregnant drinking is not good for your baby. I had a niece who drank when she was pregnant and her baby was born with something called (alcohol syndrone) but basically what it was she was affected by all the alcohol the mother drank and she was more or less retarded from it. She had learning disabilites and was immature for her age. Plus the fact, nowadays children are screened for any types of drugs in their system and can be taken away from the parents. Alcohol is a drug. Before you decide to drink again, you should find out whether or not you are pregnant if you don't want to harm your baby.

As far as I know, there's not a direct link between one night of drinking and a miscarriage; alcohol use during pregnancy does raise the chances of miscarriage, but there's always a chance present with every pregnancy, anyway. The bigger concern is that chronic alcohol use during pregnancy can lead to developmental problems, like mental retardation. So please take a pregnancy test and get the situation figured out, and stay away from alcohol if you are pregnant! A lot of important organs, like the baby's heart, are developing during those first weeks of pregnancy. Take care of yourself! :)

I'ts doubtful that you'll miscarry from drinking too much. Do a test . . . now!!! If your pregnant and you intend to keep the baby then make sure that your sticking to a healthy diet, taking folic acid supplements and seeing your obgyn regularly.

You should be ok especially since you don't know but you should find out if you are just in case. You want that baby to be healthy so you need to get some prenatal vitamins.
