Do you have any space on the disc. Most require 15% unused to work properly although I have had mine work Worth 10& but it takes much longer. doesn't seem to work below 10% though. I would suggest that if your disc is full that you save some of your information onto CD and try to make 10& minimum and try again.

It looks like most of the options are already covered.
1: No screensaver
2: No Antivirus
3: Disk space not there
4: Copy files to D:

Also try downloading another copy of Defrag program for your system and then running it.

You should not running any programs while disk defragment is running. so close all programs before you run the disk defragment.. Computer might have some progrqams in the start-up, spyware or adware. thus go to control pannel then add-remove-program and remove all UNWANTED PROGRAMS then restart your computer now do the disk defragment. shhoul work now.

The previous answerer is correct; turn off screensaver, anti-virus, anti-spy, and all other programs that typically run in the background.

Best thing would be to start the computer , then stop the stuff listed above, then run the defrag. That way you can be sure no strange programs are active.

You can stop programmes running in the background by going to Start > Run, type command "msconfig", click on the start up tab, deselect all, ok. the system will require a re-boot, when the windows reboots it will tell you that changes have been made, click the box so you do not see this messages every time you log on. not only will you stop this problem, but your computer will be faster.

Have you got your screen saver turned off? turn off as many programmes as possible before starting to defrag that may solve your problem.

Windows is not a very good defragger its just a basic cut down version.

Try using this free defragger much better.
