When the assets of one company are merged into another, the acquiring company will own all the assets of the company being bought.

When Tatas buys Corus, all stock owned by Corus shareholders will be converted into Tatas shares.

The share price of Tatas will be decided by the market place, and shares in Corus will no longer be listed on a stock exchange, since it is being merged into Tatas.
