The speed will also depends on the distance between your system and the ISP point, from where the service is provided. And also the speed/bandwidth depends on the other subscriber's usage at the same area. If you download the movies at the time when the traffic will be low like night times you can get more bandwidth and you can work more fastly.

I don't know what you mean by the movie but I have an 8Mbps speed and my downloads from websites tend to be around 300kbps. My downloads from torrents is around 100kbps. It all depends on where you download from. Your speed and their speed plus the rout the data travels all make a difference in your download speed. You will never get a full speed but having higher speeds will make a difference. If you have a 256kbps connection, you will probably download at around 60-175kbps in actuality. Your actual download speed will depend on your ISP.
