San Diego has the best weather in the nation. Southern CA in general has great weather from SD to Santa Barbara but SD is a little better than SB, LA, and Orange County b/c it rains less and it's slighty warmer at night.
We have mild winters; usually 65-75 during the day and 40-50 at night. It's really sunny during winter too even though it's technically our "rainy" season. And when it does rain it's usually at night and it doesnt rain for very long or very hard. And b/c the weather is so nice all the time it makes you appreciate or welcome rainy or cloudy weather. We also get Santa Ana winds frequently during winter and fall which can push temps into the upper 70's and 80's in the middle of winter.
Summers are great, not too hot. Usually 75-85 during the day and 65-72 at night with no rain at all from May to October. And you don't get big temperature swings or heat waves that much, especially by the coast. And it's the perfect amount of humidity, not too dry like Arizona or not too humid like Florida.
SD hands down beats any place in the nation for weather, only Hawaii can compare.

Orange County California!!! By the coast the weather is almost always nice. I like rain though, and we don't get it very often.

San Diego! Well I actually live in Oceanside, 45 miles North of San diego, but it is never too hot here, beautiful days most of the year. I know our first Christmas here we went to the beach, of course not in our bathing suits, but it was warm & sunny enough to go. It doesn't rain too much. I love it.

Arizona.....hot, but low humidity. In the northern section (Flagstaff) it is not unusual to have snow in the high elevations. So, the best of both worlds.
