every time i watch baseball channels i hear the narators say...THE KING OF SPORTS and also WORLD SERIES. WHY?. ¿king of sports? i think there are better sports. ¿world series? why? i mean the series is only played in the USA.

Baseball is not the king of sports. And it is not a world sport. None of the american sports are played world wide so none of them are actually world sports. Soccer is played in all countries and it is the most popular sport world wide. If we are going to talk about king of sports, than soccer is the one. Many people disagree with this fact in america, but do some research and see which sport is the most popular international sport.

Baseball just recently became an Olympic sport. Give it time to grow. Japan has an awesome baseball program, most central and southern American teams are great, including Cuba. It's more international now since they had the first World Baseball Championship series last season with Japan winning it all so be patient. I think baseball is the national pastime & is international, much like the way basketball has spread around the world. For me, I love the game, and I love drinking "THE KING OF BEERS", Budweiser on a warm, sunny day at the ballpark.

I don't know anyone who calls it the king of sports. Baseball is a wonderful game and is played in dozens of countries. 40% of major league baseball players are not from the United States. And the name "World Series" has been around for 100 years.

I don't know what language you are listening in. I watch baseball all the time and not once have I ever heard baseball be referred to as The King of Sports

baseball is the hardest MAJOR sport in the world. remember that u have to hit a fastball in less then a second .i bet if u get a guy who has never played baseball but is strong i bet that he cant even make contact with the ball.but if u get that same person and make him run with a football i bet he will be more successful then trying to hit a 95 mph fastball.also remember that baseball has players from all over the world from china to the dominican republic.

Must be some kind of marketing scheme by MLB. The NFL is #1 without doubt. NFL games almost always sell out and just watch the TV ratings for the Super Bowl. MLB officials would all sell a kidney for these type of results for their games.

I think they say that because it was the first sport to attract so much love,adoration and attention. When it first began it brought families together and a country that was struggle had fun again and fell in love with the sport.
