I am getting DNS response through the socket..in that socket i can get ID, Questions, Answer RRs, authority...but i couldnt get IP version number, SIP and DIP..i am using "recvfrom()"..it receives DNS response and it doesnt have any ip information...is there any function to receive IP information too?...

Get Advanced IP search (google it) it gives you all the DNS and IP information that you will ever need

If you are referring to IP version in terms of IPv4 or IPV6 there is really only one which is version 4 you will find on the Internet

you are probably using IPv4....windows Vista allows you to run IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously...
