I have an HP Pavilion a200n with an ASUS motherboard, it came with an IDE 40GB HD, I bought an 120 GB Sata HD and want to know what is the maximin HD size supported, but I cannot find an answer anywhere.

Your motherboard is new enough to support 48-bit LBA, which allows for a lot of space (more than what's available). The real limitation isn't your motherboad, but instead, the version of Windows you're using.
