Replace the thermostat. I bet if you have a temp gage the it is showing a low engine temp. Your fuel economy will also improve if it is the thermostat.

I like the answer about the freon. lol That is for a/c problems not heating problems. Also low on coolant would theoretically make your air hotter. Coolant prevents the water from reaching boiling point and makes water have a lower freezing point.

Looks like it is time to change your heater core. When you ever replace the coolant you should use a flush in it. That way you can also clean out the heater core too and keep the core clean.

But I would change the thermostat as that is sometimes a problem. Then you will still have the problem, then you change the core. If you change the core, make sure you check the hoses and if cracks in hoses, replace them while you are at it.

And if you ever have problems cuz your a/c don't work, you might check your heater hoses then. lol just kidding.

Could have a faulty thermostat or more likely a restriction some where in the heater or lines. If you haven't had the anti freeze changed or checked yearly or the system flushed out at all that may be the problem. Corrosion is usually the culprit in a heating system and can become quite expensive to repair.

Your heater core may have busted and is leaking radiator fluid, perhaps under your floor mat. Check closely with a bright flashlight for greenish fluid by rubbing a white paper towel down there. Given the age of your truck, it may be time to replace it.

Check your coolant level! It needs antifreeze to make heat! If it is low, it will be cool....not a good cool.....
