What makes people discuss their relationship problems on talk shows?

I mean, daytime talk shows like "Oprah Winfrey", what makes the individuals decide to appear on these shows to tell the whol eword about their relationship problems and sex addiction etc. I heard they aren't given appearance money, so what really makes them have the courage to go onto live tv to tell all their deepest secrets to the world? I mean, very personal stuff like cheating spouses and being in the swingers club are very very personal stuff that most people would keep to themselves. I just don't get it. And anyways, a one hour talk show won't be able to solve a 10-year relationship problem. I know it can be the start of something good, but wouldn't these people prefer to do it behind closed doors? What do you think?

I know a couple that was on Dr. Phil with money issues... basically, they were not on the same page in regards to budgeting, saving, and spending money. Dr. Phil "fixed" their problem in 1/2 hour on television and even had them back 3 months later for a follow-up to show how well they were doing.

In reality. Nothing changed. Nothing. Several years later they are still doing the same thing.

So I don't know why people go on national television to air their dirty laundry. And the hosts of these shows are even more at fault for duping the public into thinking they are really solving people's problems in a one hour show. In my opinion they are quacks.

But these shows are about money, not genuinely helping people. They feed off these poor souls. Dr. Phil, Dr. Laura, and many others make millions from advertising revenue generated by their show because people love to watch the real life soap opera unfolding before their eyes. It makes them feel better about their troubled little lives.

I think they just like the fact that they are on the television so they have something to brag about. I think personal problems should be kept in the home or at a councilor office. Very interesting question. I saw some of the Jerry Springer show. I think a lot of that is just an act to keep the show alive. I agree they should keep them behind closed doors.I think if they can afford to go on the show they should be handing money to a counselor.

I agree. I think it's pathetic to be on a talk show and reveal your personal problems to all the world. Wouldn't do it if you paid me and I am pretty expressive...
You're right! Relationship problems cannot be solved properly on a talk show. What are these people thinking?????

Some people really think if they confess this to the world, they will be forgiven and some people just do it for the attention. I think it should be done behind closed doors also.

I did. Bt are not getting me incorrect,i've got tried talking yet he did no longer hear. I mean while we communicate i assume the direction to be going in direction of information one yet another n fixing the project,even though it develop into greater of he's suitable i'm incorrect. n he talked to me with each and all the anger he cld muster. it in no way ends and we've been getting into circle n i've got been given bored with it. he develop into additionally indignant at each little issues. i din't be attentive to what i did incorrect. the anger develop into the project basically like urs. i think of for ur hubby,mayb he did no longer be attentive to what he develop into feeling precisely at that factor. If he did no longer be attentive to how he sense,its form of stressful to communicate abt it with u. whats greater u'll in basic terms be indignant at him. talking to the third guy or woman,there'll have no thoughts contain btw him n the different guy or woman n so its undemanding for him to think of clearer n variety what he's feeling. I basically wish the ppl he talked to are independent n can shop secrets and methods. anyhow,i think of the suited element is he shld have talked to u first b4 confiding in somebody else. It exhibits he's not confortable talking to u n that's the consequences of it. you're able to be greater affected person with him and he will open as much as u greater abt the flaws he has in innovations. I very almost left my hubby coz of his anger themes and that i kinda hate him. so be careful with ur anger..
