Have you ever really stop to think that you are eventually going to die? Do you still believe that death is only for the elderly? Does your own demise seem like a long time coming? For me lately, death has been on my mind very constantly. It seems it is all i've thought about for the last couple of weeks or so.

Just to clarify a few things.
I am not elderly.
I am not thinking about ending my own life.
My question was more of an enquiry to shared experiences. The thing is that I hardly ever gave thought to the fact that I will die sooner or later. I mean I knew that we all die eventually, I just never really thought about it, really thought about. How people live in this world for a while, live long eventfull hopefully happy lives, then they are gone just like that.
Some die tragic others not so tragic but the end result is the same. In terms of my life I just recently started to think that there will come a day that I cease to exist and I can't help but wonder what the world will like long after I'm gone.

Yes, I've thought about dying. No, I know death is not just for the elderly since both of my younger sisters died under the age of 18. And, no, my own death does not seem very far away. I don't wish for my death, but I don't fear it either. Usually when I've thought about death quite a bit it has not been a good sign-I've gotten whatever help I was comfortable with.
I seriously suggest you talk to someone as soon as you can, that you trust, about your thoughts about death and your feelings. It is a message that you should listen to, if that is what you are primarily thinking about-you need help now.

I have known that my mortality was a finite thing from a very young age. However I have a strong faith and belief that I have an eternal destiny and an immortality through my trust in Jesus Christ. I believe that there is only an end to this earthly existence and my heavenly existence will be even more grand so I am at peace and have no fear of death. It matters not when I die whether it be soon or at a very elderly age. I had this attitude even at a younger age. I know many friends and family members that have passed on at a young age and I know that God has my time of passing pre ordained and I am here to fulfill my purpose as a human being for the here and now.

Science says,"energy can niether be created nor destroyed." I believe that is true. We are energy beings and our shell in this lifetime is just our clothing to use until it wears out.I am only 43 and at the moment my body is healthy but I have had many times when strange freak illnesses have caused my doctors to lose all hope. I have also watched in my spirit self from a corner of the room while they revived my body.Just because my body was legally, clinicly, dead it didn't end my life. Sometimes it felt like a relief to be rid of it. So, I have my will made out and my medical power of attorny papers all signed and I am at peace knowing that if I go suddenly I've done the best thing I can do for my loved ones by arrainging my death scenario and taking that burden off of them.I don't sit and wait for death but I'm comfortable with the belief that when it's time it'll happen. PEACE.

The implications of Quantum Theory (which is the working principle of the transistor, integrated circuit, and modern computer) are that there are infinite trillions of universes splitting off from this one every attosecond, all a little different: in some of them you are now dead, and others, you go on in various ways, healthy, disabled or ill. Try to see your life as a movie with many endings, the one screening now is you living this life. There is another screening in a different theatre showing the next version, and so on, but all those movies already exist, and always will exist, only this is the first time for this particular version, in which you contact Yahoo Answers about death. Expand your mind to include this concept, then I would try meditation and Yoga Nidra (no flexibility required) and getting out into the community and helping those less fortunate than you, maybe visiting children with illnesses in hospital, or taking a disadvantaged child for a day out occasionally, there are many ways you could not only help others, but at the same time change your focus away from unproductive introspection and help yourself too. www.relax7.com/7.php or the blogs of Shan Eris on "tackling depression", describing those easily learned techniques are at www.myspace.com

I think this happens to everyone sooner or later. I know it comes to my mind often enough but I try to see it as a kind of wake up call to live well now , today ! I go through this emotional roller-coaster ride every now and then thinking about leaving my family and friends behind. It's really quite awful . Then I grab a gear and picture myself a feisty , very old gramma still wearing blue jeans and having fun with the grandchildren i hope to have one day...... lol... makes me smile. I think what you're going through is normal but you have to strive to let it go .Redirect your thoughts to things that make you smile . Don't dwell on the things you can't change. Dieing is the one thing we truly have to do, eventually ...... it's just that we have a life to live first !

Everyone thinks of their own mortality at some point or another. Especially when a loved one, or someone close in age dies does the question come about. You have to look past that and think of the good things in life. It could be as simple as a food you enjoy. Then keep going and live life.

Curious about life after death?
I suggest "Embraced by the Light," "Saved by the Light," and "Beyond the Darkness" if you want detailed information.
There are many sites on NDE (Near Death Experiences) on the web if you would like shorter stories. Along with the sciences that negate the experience.
I'm one of those people that hasn't died, so I figure if I want to know more, I research the ones that have.
Live well

it's like an over-starched shirt. it keeps on itching, it's not right or wrong, but just an uncomfortable thought cause it's the unknown.
