How do you know if you are in love? I have this guy friend, who I really like as a friend, but when I'm around him I feel like we're so similar, and like we'd make a good couple. Sometimes I wish I could be closer to him, and I love to spend time with him. This feels like something more than just friendly feelings. But how exactly do I know if it's love or not?

It sounds more like an attraction, and there is a part of you that really wants to be loved and complete. Questioning it is good because you are looking deeper into how you feel, but unless you discuss it a little you can go on questioning your self and being caught in a dream alone. You don't. You just guess and then accept your answer. Besides being "in love" is just infatuation and lust anyways. If you're feeling like you want to **** his brains out and could imagine spending too much time with him because he's just oh so perfect, you're 'in love'. Don't up and marry the guy over those though! You'll be another divorce statistic this way.

What you feel is lust. That goes away after a while. You don't know about love just by knowing it, as some imply. That is completely rediculous.
Wait until all the butterflies go away and you feel so comfortable with him that you realize that your life is better with him than without him.

Maybe you're "falling" in love. It's fun to follow it. It's painful if both parties are not falling. See what happens. Live the experience. Pain let's you know you're alive. But Love is worth the risk.

You can "love" someone without being "in love" with them. You are not in love, If you were you would know for sure.
