What is the definition of normal, anyways? How would you define "normal"? Is there even such a thing? There is such a thing as average, but no "normal". And for that disabled man, I feel so bad for him, how horrible.

What the hell is normal anyway. I don't think there is such a thing. And I definitely don't make fun of people who are different to me. I have 2 wheelchair bound cousins and my daughters bf is also in a wheelchair......the only difference I see with them is that their legs don't work and mine do! That 'SOMEBODY' should keep his opinions to himself....your friends little boy has the right to have mum, dad or both take him into school if he wants them to, whether they are walking beside him or wheeling beside him. If he is subjected to teasing from peirs it should be addressed. Maybe the school could co-operate with this matter by doing in-class education on disabled people!

No, I don't make fun of people who are disabled. I am engaged to a man who happens to be in a wheelchair. I dont see how I am any better than him. I believe you should only judge someoe by what is on the inside, not the outer appearance. Think of how boring it would be if God made us all exactly alike. I think the Golden Rule applies in your situation. The people you are talking about should treat others how they would want to be treated.

Disabled people have always been considered abnormal and persecuted throughout history, from the Spartans to the Nazis. If they still are now, then we should reflect upon the very roots of our so-called open society. Why make fun of them in the first place?

There are many unsympathetic persons in the world which is very sad. I had a friend in high school who was spastic. With the help of her family and friends and loads of encouragement in therapy she was able to adapt to her condition and overlook the unkindness from others who didn't understand. She had a great support group which made a big difference in how she dealt with herself being different from the norm.

you want to know why he can't walk his son to school because other kids might make fun of him?? I'll tell you why, because parents don't teach their kids to treat different people with respect. People don't teach their kids to treat everyone equally. And thats something I am teaching my kids the same way my parents taught me. So if you want to change all this, when you have children teach them how to respect people no matter what color, age, race they are.

people make fun of others that aren't 'normal' because they are scared little whimps, too afraid to stand up to the norms that society establishes.
I feel sorry for anyone who allows themselves to remain bound by excessive norms...they are the disabled ones!!

There is no such thing as a "normal" person...And yes and no, depends on the humor of the person and the nature of their behavior, not so much the physical....Like the situation you speak of is wrong, period...

That somebody should ask himself what normal is. To say something like that to another human being is not normal.
It just shows how ignorant that person is.
