When my Wii is not on and I don't have email I've noticed a blue light pulsates occasionally where you would insert a disk..... why is that?

The blue light signals you, that you have a new message. In the main Wii Menu klick the envelope icon in the lower right.
I guess, that you got the email about the now working News Channel, and that you should do an update for your system.

Depending on your settings you can change the behaviour of your Wii when it receives a message. It can blink slowly, faster or blinking can be turned off.

OK here is for all the people who don't know yet the wii light is meant when somebody from another computer or from the system itself leaves a message u can adjust these settings on Ur wii when u go to wii connect 24 and click slot illumination that means how bright u want Ur wii to shine when u do get a message

PS very helpful advice if u like to have the light on then simply send and e mail from Ur comp to Ur wii and once Ur wii gets it Ur light will shine up trust me it looks nice keeping it on

and another thing the wii light is also designed for close to lifetime lasting meaning that it will not burn out because its designed to stay on when u get a message so don't worry about it staying on.

I thought it means you have a message. I know after I updated the Wii, the blue light started pulsating, so I checked the e-mail, and after I deleted that e-mail, the blue light stop pulsating.

It means you have a message, click the little letter in the bottom of the main chanel screen. My noyfriend's Wii did that for days, I just thought it was happy. (kidding)
