What the moron who answered first fails to see is that Ragan and Arnie are both republican. And both suck at it.

If you mean movie stars like Arnold S actually getting into politics, they have as much right as anyone else to run for offices. If you mean people like S Penn and Hanoi Jane using their star status to shoot off their mouths and run down the country that gave them the means and the right to do so? I don't see why anyone even listens to them. I sure never had my mind made up on how to vote or how to think based on some movie star's opinion. I'm quite capable of making up my own mind. I do find my-self not caring to watch the radicals movies any more though. Same way with singers. The Dixie Who's?

Well, Arnold was stupid til he moved to the center left in California. he would have never won the governorship if he hadn't and the dipwad in the democratic party (who, I am convinced, tried to lose) didn't run. But, just like any politician who runs for office, it's for power and fame. I have found that they aren't very effective leaders, however. They just do what they are told by interest groups.

You mean like Ronald Reagan who was believe to be one of our best presidents. He won by a land slide the 2nd time. He ran as Governor of California before he ran for President so it was easy to accept him & judge him by his works. Because he was an actor he was very personable & good at hiding angry feelings.
It made him a perfect politician. I voted for him both times & never regretted it.

Govenor Swarznegger was harder to take serious, but appears to be doing a good job. He was re-elected. He does some Hollywood stunts though in riding his motorcycle without a helmet, sexual harassment to female employees & etc. Seems dumb like what an actor would do.

Clinton Eastwood & Sonny Bono as mayor seems strange to me but politics is about how you are perceived not neccessarily who you are.

i understand their desire to help upgrade the economic as well as the lives of our fellow countrymen, but. , the question is that..' are they credible enough to gain people's trust?" this is the most interesting question that each of us should analyse.. many entertainers just want to use their popularity. once they got the peoples trust, they just do their own thing,, minding other politician's business,, this kind of people aspiring to be a politicians should have a decency and better platform before entering a very serious matter.

Because their time in the limelight is ending, and they need to do something to keep themselves in the public eye. I wouldn't be surprised if Britney Spears runs for office in Louisiana...

I believe that if they posses political prowess and an agenda to promote the stability and progress of our nation that the theatrical training can only make them that much more convincing in dialog to leaders of other nations that we need desperately to converse with to advance the mutual understanding necessary for commerce and cooperation within a world that is facing many dilemmas.

They can say whatever they want even if they sound stupid. I personally like it when they speak up cause i think it hurts the liberal agenda and it makes the democrats and liberals look bad. Most of them are on the fringe of being alex jones conspiracy people.

President Reagan, Governor Arnold S., has been good political representative. I feel they have more compassion then your average politician, and their popularity is already established before he evens enters politics.

They are American citizens and they have the right to voice their opinion. If they are liberal (which many of them are) the political right has a problem with it. That is because they have notoriety and the conservatives fear that they will sway public opinion. However, they have no problem when conservative celebrities speak out......Another hypocrisy exposed.
