Hello I'm a 19 year old male,

I've been quite worried the last couple of days when I read this article, stating that masturbation could cause your hair to become thin and could promote memory loss. I've been doing it since I was younger ( 13) and well to read that kinda made me think. I feel kinda weird talking about this, but I really need to know, is this true? I know that our bodys do release certain chemicals, I'm just worried that thoses chemicals will do some harm in the future.

Help

Worry not. Everyone masturbates, men and women and if hair loss was a side effect, the entire adult population of the world would be bald and they wouldn't remember what they had for dinner last night.

This information is pure rubbish of the most ignorant sort. When I was a boy they said it would drive you insane and ruin your eye site, and you would grow hair on your palms and loose your manly vigor (presumably because you had only many ejaculations and you shouldn't use them up before your old enough to marry.) that it would make you effeminate and nervous. Physiology teaches that this an almost inexhaustibly renewable resource. In a healthy state the only harm those certain chemicals (sugar, protein, zinc, salt, some other stuff I forget and your swimmers) can do is stain your sheets kinda white, and it washes out. By way of an testament to the verity of these terrible consequences. My palms are smooth, I have a full beard, a head of hair a twenty five year old would envy, not crazy, I did not wear glasses until I was 50. etc. etc. I'm not nervous,I've slowed down some, but not lost my interest.

Masturbation at your time in life is not a nasty compulsion, its a hobby. Enjoy it. If you have religious issues with it, this may become more difficult for you to adopt a more relaxed attitude. However; when I went looking for the scriptural authority for this behavioral restriction, I found that the passage in question was in fact about something else. Read a book, find a rational sexual advice websight. Be critical about what you read. Find wisdom in the shoemaker that sticks to his last. Look for a urologist to discuss your plumbing, not a crackpot, working out of his trade.
