Well, I used to be interested in planets and stars to. What I have to say is that you should move on to researching these bodies and what happens to them. After this, you can study quasars, galaxies, the universe, pulsars, ultimate fate of the universe, comets, asteroids, meteors, quantum physics and black holes.
Here is a good place to be updated on what happens in the science of astronomy.

There are also other objects you can see such as planetary nebula, star clusters, bright nebula like the Orion nebula (the middle "star" in Orion's belt), and galaxies. The easiest galaxy to see whole is the Andromeda galaxy which appears dimmer but much larger than our moon. Right now it's on the exact northwest horizon, of course, depending on your exact location and time of day. And don't forget the sun, sunspots and the Moon.
Most of these are easy to see with the naked eye, even more with binoculars, and the dimmer ones with a telescope. So have fun observing, there is a lot out there to see!

If we didn't have anyything else to say we also might say we were interested in stars and planets. We realized long ago that most of us do live on planets. Some of the brighter ones of us even noticed that there are things, shiny things, up there, at night. We decided they we'd call them stars. What else is there to say?
