What week or about what week will the baby drop and how will i be able to tell?

I'm week 34 and mine has only now "dropped" I can tell because I feel more pressure in my lower abdomen but also because last week I could feel babies bum sticking out just below my ribs and now when it sticks out it's about an inch above my belly button. Which is quite a significant drop.
They say that lots of walking as part of your daily exercise helps baby drop and makes for a shorter labour.

I think babies can drop anywhere from 30 weeks up till the time you deliver. Neither of my two babies dropped at all. I'm 34 weeks (3rd week) and I thought my baby dropped a couple of weeks ago, but that was just me gaining weight very quickly :) I never had any pressure or pain or any of that.

My son, my one and only child, didn't seem to drop at all. My hubby and I kept waiting for signs that labor would be soon... but there were none. My belly was high throughout. The doctor was able to tel me that I was 80% effaced and 1 centimeter two weeks before delivering by giving me a vaginal exam... but that's the only way we knew, sort of, that labor was near (although it was 2 weeks before he arrived).

It will drop when it's ready. My sister's babies all dropped at about 8 months.. mine didn't until nearly 9 months...
And don't worry.. you'll know it when it happens... In one word? Pressure...

you may not drop until the day you go into labor everyone is different
