Why not hire someone who can be there with you? Then, you could still work from home, the baby could be in her home, you will be there for constant supervision and can pop in at any time to see your little darling, and you'll STILL get your work done. Let someone else answer the screams while you need to get your work done and when it's time for a break, walk over and enjoy the sweet smiles. If you're going to spend the money on a sitter anyway, why not do it on your terms?

Well, your daughter is a baby and it's not like she'll remember or even know what you do, so don't worry about the relationship. The kid is barely even a person. Wait 'til she's older to worry about whether or not you need to be home. Look at the costs involved and think about how much you enjoy work. Perhaps you could work a few days a week from the office and a few at home or hire a baby sitter and work from home.

Maybe you could work half-days at the office, or a couple days a week at the office and the rest at home. You shouldn't have to wait for your husband to get home so you can work. Try putting you daughter in a baby swing or some other type of seat near you while you're working. Maybe you could hire a babysitter who would tend to your daughter in your home while you're there working.
Good luck!

Count in the cost of sitter 5 days a week, gas to and from work, lunch for 5 days a week and likely you will stop for coffee or a soda on the way so count those costs. Know your new salary and then and then subtract the above costs from your wages. Is it worth it? Also, consider whether your working will have an affect on your relationship with your daughter.

I agree with BWS. If the job is that important to you - you've got to find a way to keep it. If you can afford an in-home day-time nanny, that would be perfect - then you can work from home or in the office. At a minimum, you'll need help part time - you can't do it all forever.

I feel you should work from home if at all possible... This is the best for you and the baby.
