In "Shrub" she said people in west Texas were afraid to admit they were gay because people there might think they were Democrats! She had a wonderful sense of humor, I loved her style of writing as much as the fact that she always told the truth. She was a great talent, a wonderful author, and I am so very sorry she is gone.
